Time Management/Project Planning (bring other activity calendars); Pick your Categories

Hello from Bloomington-Normal ACT-SO!!! The second Enrichment Session for ACT-SO 2019-20 will be Saturday, October 19, from 2-5pm, and we want to see you! We meet at the ISU State Farm Hall of Business on S. University Street, and the room number will be posted on the doors of the building.

Please have your parent/guardian(s) accompany you, if they have not yet attended an Orientation or Enrichment Session. They will only need to stay for 30-45 minutes.

The registration fee is $40. Checks can be made payable to BN ACT-SO. Please come prepared to pay, if you have not already done so.

There will be three important items on the October 19 Agenda:

1. “Introduce Yourself!” There will be practice at each Enrichment Session to prepare for introducing yourself to the judges. This is also a great life skill!

2. Time Management & Project Planning. Guest presenter Allegra Thigpen, a Talent Acquisition Specialist at State Farm, will provide strategies to help you make steady progress on your performance or project, so you can compete at your best in April.

3. Competition Category Requirements. Each ACT-SO Olympian may compete in up to 3 competition categories. It is time to select your category(ies), and get started on preparation.

MENTORS:
We encourage you to have a mentor in each of your chosen competition categories, to give you feedback and help you prepare to compete. A mentor should be a professional or teacher in that area (for example, a professional artist in the art medium you are planning to create, such as photography, sculpture).
